On May 6 at Knowledge 2026, ServiceNow and Accenture unveiled a joint forward-deployed engineering (FDE) program aimed squarely at the agentic AI delivery gap. Embedded teams work inside customer environments to build and operate workflows on the ServiceNow AI Platform, with access to 300+ pre-built agent skills and the ServiceNow AI Control Tower for measuring impact. John Aisien of ServiceNow framed it bluntly — "we're not simply handing over instructions" — and Ram Ramalingam of Accenture promised "real results, not roadmaps." Accenture research cited alongside the launch put the scale of the problem at 32% of leaders reporting sustained, enterprise-wide AI impact.

For enterprise buyers, the FDE motion is a useful tell. It says the bottleneck for agentic AI is no longer model quality or platform features — it is integration, identity, change management, and the day-two operating muscle that pilot teams rarely have. Operators evaluating agentic vendors in 2026 should weight the delivery model as heavily as the platform: who is on-site, what their incentive is, and whether the engagement ends with a working production agent or with a slide deck about one.
